Marianne Gendron, Historical Depiction Classical Realist
The work of Marianne Gendron has been selected as the Offical Poster for the State of New Mexico Office of African American Affairs three years in a row. www.oaaa.state.nm.us
Ms. Gendron is a trained artist and studied with artist Gaston Petit and Dr. Pak No Soo in Tokyo, Japan. In New Mexico her mentors are Leo Neufeld, portrait artist, and Reggie Gamon, retired University Art Professor who passed on last year. Prior, Gendron was influenced by long time friend Pablita Velarde of Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico, who taught her how to make traditional paint from clays and other minerals found along the Rio Grande River and surrounding areas.
In the 1980's Gendron held an art exhibit with Pablita Velarde and Tommy Montoya of Oke Owinge (formally San Juan Pueblo) at the Foreign Correspondents Club in Tokyo, Japan. Her work is in public collections which include the Imperial Palace, Tokyo, Japan; The Eric Hotung Collection, Hong Kong and Shanghi, Republic of China; The Veterans Administration in Washington DC, the African-American Affairs Office and in the African American Cultural Center under construction at the New Mexico Expo here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Gendron specializes in historical subjects and is known for classical realism interpretations in oil paints and gold leafing. M. Gendron, is a Tribal Member of Huron-Wendat First Nation located in Wendake, Quebec and presently resides in Albuquerque. Gendrons journey to Benefit the Cause of the White Buffalo will begin in the "Heart of Old Town Albuqueque" hosted by Desert Corn Gallery. Her work is presently on display as well as the paintings of the lineage of the White Buffalo ... A Collectors Must See...

Eddie Tsosie Dine Navajo, Original Art Paintings
Eddie was born and raised on the Navajo Reservation in Tselani Springs, Arizona. Eddie spent his boyhood herding sheep in the rugged rocky terrain that surrounds his family homestead. At the age of 7 he was sent to the Chinle Boarding School for Native Americans. While at school he began to draw scenes in pencil that recalled his memories of herding sheep during summer breaks from school. He was then sent ot Ganado Mission High, graduated and attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence Kansas where he studied Architectural Drafting. At all these schools, Eddies drawings were always in the group that was posted for viewing. Since then Eddie has won numerous awards to include Best of Show at the Navajo Nation Fair, First Place in Watercolors, First Place in Design and is now listed in "Who's Who in Indian Art" at the Heard Museum in Phoenix Arizona.
Eddie attributes his success to being self-motivated and self-taught. He works mainly in watercolors, acrylics and occasionally pencil, ink and pastels. In his view of art, he says "Art is an inspirtation to me. It is a means of conveying my feelings and thoughts to other people so that they can also be uplifted by what they see and Visualize." Eddie currently lives and Works in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His work is found here at Desert Corn Gallery, in Old Town Albuquerque.....A Must see....

Jim Fallier, AWS
Jim, originally from Kansas is of French and Cherokee descent. His great love for horses led him to work as a trainer at various horse ranches and race tracks throughout the country. Jim was commissioned to paint portraits of many of the same horses he helped train, capturing the unique features, physique, and character of each horse. In 1967 Jim began painting full time and developed a passion for an almost psychedelic color style that comes alive on the canvas. Jim is a member of the prestigious American Watercolor Society in New York. Jim's exclusive work can be found at DESERT CORN GALLERY.
